ARBOR, spol. s r.o. is a Czech company,and this year we celebrate our tradition of 25 years since our foundation on 27 January 1992 in Kutná Hora.
The company’s name comes from Latin, specifically from the Latin dictionary of Mr. Jan Štěpnička, one of the founders. He knew that the name of a successful company should begin with the letter “A” and include the letter “R” for the sound… so by leafing through the book, the name of the company ARBOR (Latin for TREE) was born.
ARBOR’s headquarters are located in Kutná Hora with offices in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Bratislava.
ARBOR’s “Curriculum Vitae” is fairly rich over its 25 years – the company’s key milestones were, for example, the construction of a GSM network for Eurotel in 1997, the construction of a network for Oskar in 2000, followed by the preparation and implementation of 2G, 3G and UMTS for Eurotel, then a framework contract for construction with Vodafone, successes in TO2 tenders, not to mention a contract with Huawei… all this can be summarized as the construction of a tailor-made mobile network for all current mobile operators in the Czech Republic. At the same time, ARBOR has made fundamental changes in the last three years, such as:
- 2015 independence of the company
- 2016 rebranding, changing the corporate logo, and building our own identity
- 2017 celebration of 25 years of the company’s existence and relocation of company headquarters in Kutná Hora
ARBOR clients are from among mobile and fixed telecommunication and data operators, leading manufacturers of telecommunication technologies, and system integrators. The company’s major clients include CETIN, O2 (Telefónica Czech Republic), Vodafone Czech Republic, Huawei and others. In Slovakia, clients include BENESTRA, SWAN, Slovanet and O2 Slovakia. We also work with T-Mobile Czech Republic, Planet A, CE Colo, Internet service providers, and many others.
Our portfolio of services and core activities include acquisition and engineering activities, design activities, technology swaps, reconfiguration of existing and construction of new locations and MW connections, LTE construction, site disruption, and site rental.
During its existence, the company has grown from a local firm into one of the leading players in the field of fixed and mobile telecommunication networks operating in all regions of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and has further expanded its interest to the European Union.
ARBOR has achieved its success mainly by emphasizing the quality of services with high added value and an innovative approach. The company participated in several tenders during its activities and was successful, such as in the tender for the company Česká telekomunikační infrastruktura, a.s. (CETIN) to demolish sites or to de-install base stations of telecommunication networks. As part of the removal of the entire construction, ARBOR provides comprehensive services related to the dismantling of technical equipment and steel and load-bearing structures as well as electrical connections and subsequent building elements.
The company has managed to obtain a high level of certification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BS OHSAS 18001, and ISO/IEC 27001) in terms of process efficiency, as well as production and technology. Projects are executed on a turnkey basis, from the first design to the finished product ready for use.
In the near future, ARBOR will continue to confirm its market position, search for new activities and projects, and plans to focus on First Line Maintenance (FLM), optics, penetration outside the telecommunications market, active search for new employees and partners, improved qualification, employee education, and continually increasing the efficiency of internal processes.
ARBOR successfully becomes independent
On 31 March 2016, ARBOR announced a complete rebranding, a corporate logo change, and the construction of its own identity. The company’s management remained unchanged, and the company remained the leading provider of designs and services for both mobile and fixed telecoms and data operators. ARBOR continues to offer full turn-key projects, products, and services to its clients. We provide comprehensive service ranging from project management and feasibility studies, through project and engineering, manufacturing, construction, assembly and service, to maintenance and review activities.
The social event took place during the summer afternoon and evening of 8 June 2017 in exclusive spaces areas amidst the gardens of the Central Bohemian Region Gallery (GASK), the staff house, and its surroundings.
The celebration was conceived as a festive meeting of colleagues, friends, business partners, and other guests in a pleasant atmosphere enhanced by the genius loci. All this was accompanied by great refreshments and service.
ARBOR plans to meet its vision and, based on the wishes it received during the celebration, to act on the telecommunication market and other fields for at least another 25 years.And we’re already looking forward to our 30-year celebration meeting.
ARBOR and its social responsibility
The social responsibility of the company involves its support of individual cultural and social areas (such as cooperation in the KH Social Car project, support of the KH Regional Charity, and support of the Children’s Center in Kolín). At present, ARBOR supports the SK Sršni sports hockey club in Kutná Hora, whose main priority is educating children and youth and focusing on activities that generally support the integration of children into a collective through sports.
